Katsina State Government has released Letters of Appointment to newly recruited Academic and Non-Academic staff, alongside Admission Letters to prospective students of the newly established Model Secondary Schools in Radda, Dumurkul, and Jikamshi.
The exercise was organized by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education on Tuesday, 6th January, 2026,
marking a significant milestone in the state’s education reform.
The Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Malam Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia, formally handed over appointment letters to staff and symbolically presenting admission letters to selected students, congratulating the newly appointed staff and urged them to approach their responsibilities with dedication, professionalism, and a strong sense of teamwork.
He noted that their selection was strictly merit-based and emphasized the critical role they will play in driving excellence and setting high standards in the model schools.

He further explained that students admitted into the Model Secondary Schools in Radda, Dumurkul, and Jikamshi were drawn from public schools across all 360 political wards of Katsina State, stressing that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to inclusiveness, equity, and providing equal opportunities for children from all backgrounds.
Reaffirming the vision of the present administration, the Commissioner reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Executive Governor of Katsina State to repositioning the education sector.
He disclosed that the Ministry, in the 2026 budget, plans to renovate 74 Senior and Junior Secondary Schools across the state, in addition to several basic education interventions aimed at improving infrastructure, learning outcomes, and restoring educational excellence.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the Chief Consultant of Hallmark Consultancy Firm, Hajiya Zainab Bugaje Jika, described the establishment of the model schools as a clear demonstration of His Excellency’s vision for special schools tailored to meet the diverse needs of children. She outlined the transparent and rigorous processes adopted in selecting students through entrance examinations, as well as the recruitment of teachers through public advertisements, an online application portal, CBT assessments, and physical interviews. She expressed confidence that a competent and committed workforce had been assembled to ensure the success of the schools.

Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education on 6th January, 2026 said the Chairman of the Teachers Service Board (TSB), Alhaji Sada Ibrahim (Chigarin Dutsinma), charged the newly employed teachers to give their very best in ensuring the success of the model schools and in fulfilling the educational aspirations of the present administration.
He assured them of the Board’s full support and commitment to both Academic and Non-Academic staff.
On behalf of the people of Radda, the Bare-Bari of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umar Bare-Bari, expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor for the establishment of the Model Secondary School in the community, describing it as a source of pride for the entire town.
He called on the teachers to feel at home and build cordial relationships with the host community.
In the vote of thanks, the Principal Radda Model Special School Dr. Lawal Shehu, described the occasion as another historic milestone in Katsina State’s civil service and education sector, noting that over 250 staff had received appointment letters to serve in the newly established model schools. He reminded the staff that the opportunity was not merely for celebration, but a call to sacrifice, discipline, hardwork, and unwavering commitment to effective teaching and learning.

Dr. Lawal reaffirmed the collective resolve of the staff to justify the confidence reposed in them and to deliver measurable results. He commended the transparent and merit-based recruitment process, describing it as one of the most credible in the state’s history, and expressed appreciation to His Excellency, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Hallmark Education Consultant Services, and AGILE Katsina for their support and guidance.
