Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State expressed appreciation on the efforts of the State Ministry for Local Government and Emirate Affairs for the wonderful job it has been doing to move the state forward on various sectors of development.
The Governor made the commendation on Monday when he visited the Ministry to inspect Tricycle Ambulances and Motorcycles for Resident Inspectors procured by the Ministry.

Already 102 Tricycle Ambulances are being assembled at the premises of the Ministry while 68 are on the way, totalling 260, and 34 Motorcycles were also on the ground.
The Tricycle Ambulances were meant to be distributed to rehabilitated/renovated Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) and those being constructed across the LGAs of the state, while the Motorcycles will be allocated to the Ministry’s Resident Inspectors in each of the 34 LGAs.
The Governor explained that in the year 2026, his administration will make each of the 361polical Wards to have functional PHC that will operate 24 hours with equipped Tricycle Ambulance, as well as other equipments necessary for primary diagnosis.
Governor Radda however said government had awarded the procurement of about 15 fully equipped Ambulances that would be on the major roads in case of a major accident with a simple call for within up to Five to Ten minutes, the Ambulance will be there to evacuate the victims to hospital and before reaching the hospital, the victims will start to be treated in the Ambulances.

He pointed out that as long as PHCs are well equipped, the influx of patients into the secondary and tertiary health institutions will be reduced drastically.
The Governor however stated that his administration is in the process of recruiting various cadre of health personnel and will continue to do that with the aim of addressing the shortage of manpower in the PHCs.
He also pointed out that three major areas like Health, Education and Agriculture must be given utmost attention, adding that government is also doing its best on other sectors of the economy to meet the demand of the state.
The Governor therefore thanked the Commissioner Hon. Bishir Tanimu, the Special Advisers of LG Inspectorate and that of Emirate Affairs Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana and Hon. Usman Abba Jaye respectively, the Permanent Secretary of MLGEA Alhaji Mas’udu Banye, Staff of the Ministry as well as Local Councils Chairmen and their staff for a job well done.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs Hon. Bashir Tanimu alongside Special Adviser LG Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana and that of the Emirate Affairs Hon. Usman Abba Jaye and the Permanent Secretary MLGEA Alhaji Mas’udu Banye conducted the Governor round the procured items.
