The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has lost grip at the grassroot in Katsina as members of the chairmanship candidates in the recent council elections announced Katsina: PDP loses at the grassrootdumping the party.

In a letter to the State leadership of the party signed and issued by the Forum chairman and Secretary, Hon Abdullah Usman Tumburkai and Hon Abdurrahaman Kusada from Dandume and Kusada local governments respectively have not given reasons for quiting the party, but expressed appreciation for opportunity the party gave them seek election under its platform.
Sources close to the group suggested that the steps may not be unconnected to the dwindling fortunes of the party especially with the leadership crises facing the party.
Recall that some state governors and members of the National Assembly and States houses of assembly elected under the PDP have dumped the party for ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC,
The Forum has not stated were they would move to, but there are feelers that they may embrace the All Progressives Congress, APC
