Stakeholders Appreciate Citizen Budget initiative

Stakeholders in Katsina State have described the Town Hall meetings on the Citizen Budget as right step towards executing developmental projects based on the needs and yearnings of the electorates.

Several stakeholders stated this during the Town Hall meeting on the 2026 budget in wards and local governments.
Reports from Charanchi, Dutsinma, Kafur, Malumfashi, Katsina and Safana local government areas show the Town Hall meeting on the 2026 citizen budget was organized by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with Katsina State Community Development Programme
The Town Hall meeting was attended by government officials, community leaders, Officials and members of Women and Youth Association, Community and Civil Society Organizations among others.
Lawal Gwanda reports that thel local government visited by the Media Team of the state Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs include Charanchi, Dutsinma and Safana.
Similarly, the political wards visited include Banye, and charanchi in charanchi local government, Safana, shema, Dutsinma ‘A’ all in Dutsinma and Safana local government areas.
At all places visited, the stakeholders expressed appreciation over the turn out of the electrates to share their views on the priorities to be included in the 2026 budget.
Those who spoke include the special Adviser Local Government Inspectorate Alhaji Lawal Rufa’i Safana, the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Alhaji Mas’udu Banye and the National Coordinator of National Social Investment Programme Agency Dr Badamasi Lawal Charanchi.
Others are the National Law Maker representing Batagarawa, Rimi, Charanchi Federal Constituency Architect Usman Murtala Banye , the Special Adviser Community And Watch Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Safana among others.
They described the Town Hall meeting as a welcome development towards executing developmental projects based on the needs and aspirations of the electorates.
The stakeholders commended the state Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Raddah for the initiative geared towards improving the well-being of people and assured to carry every one along to achieve the set objectives.
During the programme, the representatives of various youth and women associations presented their proposals on their needs to be included in the 2026 budget and applauded the State Governor  for carrying the electorates along in the budget preparation.
