Kebbi APC dismisses call on Shettima to resign

The All Progressives Congress APC in Kebbi state has dissociated itself from one Malam Isa Salihu Nataro who feigned membership of the party and was quoted to have called on Vice President Kashim Shettima to resign from the party.

A statement signed and issued today by Chairman of the party Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru in reaction to the call, described the utterances as unrepresentative of the position of the party.

The statement reads:

The attention of All Progressives Congress (APC ), Kebbi state chapter, has been drawn to a recent statement issued by one Mallam Isah salihu Nataro, who described himself as a “prominent APC member” and a “gubernatorial aspirant” and who provocatively called on His Excellency Vice President Kashim Shettima to “resign now from the Tinubu government before you are disgraced.”

Ordinarily, such a baseless, reckless, and self serving comment would not merit a response, but for the purpose of setting the records straight and safeguarding the unity and integrity of our great party. The Kebbi state APC wishes to state the following:

1. Malam Salihu Isah Nataro is not recognized or known by the leadership of our party at the local government, state or the national level as a genuine stakeholder or committed party loyalist. His frequent public outbursts and desperate attempts to attract attention through provocative statements have become a reckless familiar pattern, aimed at seeking political and personal relevance to the point of political desperation and frustration.

2. The attack on Vice President Kashim Shettima is unwarranted, unpatriotic and clearly mischievous. The Vice  President remains a loyal and committed statesman who has been working tirelessly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reposition Nigeria for economic recovery, national security and infrastructural development.

No true and patriotic member of the APC will attempt to destabilize the government we all worked hard to bring to power. Anyone who issues such a statements is either acting on behalf of the opposition or is grossly ignorant of the responsibilities and expectations in party loyalty and discipline.

4. We urge the public and the media to disregard Mallam Nataro’s comments as the views of a political loner who does not speak for the APC in Kebbi state. His utterances do not reflect the true position of our party or the feelings of genuine members of the APC .

5. We reaffirm our total loyalty and unflinching support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. We also reaffirm our commitment to the renewed hope agenda which is yielding visible and positive impact across the country.

6. Finally ,we caution Mallam Nataro and his likes to desist from reckless and inflammatory statements that can jeopardize party unity and undermine national stability. Politics is not a platform for blackmail or attention-seeking, but for a responsible engagement, service, and sacrifice.
