The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor, Ismaila Isah has said the recent awards by The Sun and Daily Independent Newspapers on Governor Usman Ododo is justifiable and well-deserved.
He said, theGov Ododo administration brought dynamism in governance which is unprecedented in Kogi state history.
Ismaila Isah made the remarks in an interaction with journalists when he paid a visit to Kaduna State NUJ last Thursday evening.
He said the government has increased payment of bursary to students studying in tertiary institutions in the State from N12,000 to N30,000. Those in law school, it’s been increased to N300,000 and the same applies to those in medical schools.
Isah added that the administration does a lot in terms of insurance, covering all widows, children 0-5, pregnant women, the elderly especially those who are pensioners and the vulnerable groups, people living with disabilities and all children or families of fallen heroes that is, our veterans who fought for Nigeria’s peace, unity and sovereignty.
“All of these the Ododo government has done in the last one year plus. Right now, we are doing over 465km of roads across the 21 LGAs and most of them are about being completed especially those LGA headquarters and towns across the State.
The SA Media further said he is pleased to be at Kaduna State NUJ to tell the Kogi story under the Administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, while reiterating that it’s been so good so far and that is to bring to our understanding what the Governor has done in the last one year,” he said.
The Media Aide then added that what the administration has succeeded in doing, is to create a trajectory that probably has never been witnessed in the history of the State. There have been some kind of dynamism in governance and deliberate attempts to bring the governance closer to the people.
Mr Isah revealed that just yesterday, the Sun Newspaper voted Governor Ododo through their letter of notification of investiture as the best Governor in terms of Governance as well as just a week before then, Daily Independence Newspaper voted him as the best Governor in agriculture.
“These awards are backed by credible facts in terms of what we are doing in transforming agriculture and also taking governance to the people, promoting youths and women inclusiveness across the state.” he concluded.
