The heads of security agencies in Nigeria have been urged to propose strategies for improving service delivery.
This move is part of broader efforts to equip Nigeria’s security agencies with advanced technology, including Artificial Intelligence-powered tools, to combat the country’s security challenges.
The President’s initiatives are designed to support the transformation of the DSS into a more efficient and modern security force
This was as the president has appointed Folashade Arinola Adekaiyaoja as the new Deputy Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Thie appointment is a significant move, marking the first of its kind under President Tinubu’s administration, and is aimed at restructuring the DSS for enhanced operational efficiency.
The approval, which aligns with the agency’s original organogram, ensures that the DSS will now have three Deputy Directors General in its hierarchy.
Reports indicate that the decision was made based on a recommendation from the DSS Director-General, Mr. Oluwastosin Ajayi, and endorsed by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The appointment has been well received by both serving and retired DSS officers, who view Adekaiyaoja as highly qualified for the role.
Adekaiyaoja, a native of Kogi State, is expected to contribute significantly to the agency’s reform and development.
