NAPTIP Sensitises Public On Human Trafficking  in Zuru

Following the rescue of 19 Children by the government from human traffickers in Kebbi State, Zuru Local Government Council in collaborating with the Command of National Agency For The Prohibition Of Trafficking In Persons ( NAPTIP) in Kebbi State has organised a One-day public enlightenment and awareness campaign on the dangers of human trafficking, Child labour and Sexual abuse in Zuru local government area of Kebbi State.

 In his message during the awareness campaign held on Sunday at town hall in Zuru, Governor Nasir Idris told the Stakeholders that his government has banned human trafficking,  Child abuse and all sorts of crimes in the twenty one local government areas of the state.

The governor’s message which was read by his Special Adviser on Security,  Col Danladi Ribah rtd , Idris however advised households in  the area to report any suspicious characters to their nearest security personnel.

The governor emphasized that the state government will deal ruthlessly to perpetrators of human trafficking and other sorts of crimes in the state.

 .

 While those arrested from the previous act  particularly on nineteen Children rescued from traffickers governor Idris assured  the prosecution of the culprits.

 Also Speaking Chairman of Zuru local government area,  Hon. Muhammad Bala Isah (Talban Zuru) said it unfortunate child trafficking and child labour as well as sexual abuse has become the modern business which against the nation’s laws.

He recalled that recently Kebbi State government in collaborating with NAPTIP have rescued nineteen Children who are indigenes of Zuru enroute to Cross River State from Kebbi State.

Isah however commended the efforts of Governor,  Nasir Idris and officials of NAPTIP for such unique rescue. He noted that his local government and all stakeholders to map out strategies during the awareness meeting on best to minimise or even stop the menace in the area and Kebbi State.

 Commandant of NAPTIP in Kebbi State,  Mubahu Isah Kaura described human trafficking as planned and organised crime by criminals in order to achieve their set up goals.

 Sometimes these criminals will come with gimmick and convince words in form of deception to track their target and kidnap them to other far places and molest, abuse or sell them ” Kaura said.
