The Kebbi Development Forum (KDF) has condemned the murder of Alhaji Isa Daya, the district head of Kanya in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, and prays to Allah to grant his soul eternal rest
The Forum also offers its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased the governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Nasir Idris, and the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Sani Sami Gomo II
The Forum noted that Alhaji Kanya was kidnapped along with eight of his subjects on Sunday, 6th October 2024. Though the other victims were rescued unhurt according to the Nigeria Police, the search and rescue group discovered the corpse of Alhaji Isa Daya in the bush in Sakaba, an adjoining Local Government Area in Zuru Emirate.
The forum is pained by the fact that the Zuru axis of the state, particularly the Danko/Wasagu LGA, is increasingly becoming a hotbed of kidnapping and banditry, which has led to the loss of lives, destruction of property and immense suffering.
The forum calls on the governor in his capacity as the chief security officer of the state and the police to work harder to secure the lives of the people and their property.
KDF also called on the people of the area and, indeed, the entire state to remain vigilant and security conscious and to cooperate with the police and other law enforcement agencies by volunteering information about suspicious persons and activities.
On its part, the forum pledged to cooperate with the government and security agencies in their efforts to secure our people in the entire length and breath of the state and restore normalcy.
