FCMB, Tulsi Chanrai offers free eye surgery to 450 patients

The First City Monument Bank(FCMB) office in Kebbi State under its Corporate Affairs Responsibilities in collaborating with Tulsi Chanrai Foundation have offered free eye surgery to 450 patients

Group Head, Corporate Affairs of the FCMB,  Mr Diran Olojo revealed this

during the Community Outreach for Priceless Gift of Sight Program to coomomurate 15th years of bold and purposeful action of the bank held at FCMB premises in Birnin Kebbi metropolis.

Olojo further disclosed that,  over 200, 000 patients were benefited from the combined efforts of FCMB and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation in eye surgery treatment within 15th years of the FCMB existence Nationwide.

 He sai the beneficiaries were drawn from all the twenty one local government areas of Kebbi State and other parts of the country.

Olojo also added that since 2009, FCMB has sponsored and organised such programme where 400,000 Nigerians in various states,  including Cross River,  Ogun, Imo, Abuja,  Katsina,  Adamawa and Kebbi have benefited from free testing,  optical services,  surgeries,  free glasses,  and eye disease management through this initiative and collaborative programme.

According to Olojo, FCMB has long history of Community and human development,  and it is continuesly implementing initiatives nationwide so that all communities in which the bank operates should benefit from presence through sustainable development .

He noted that,  over the years,  the bank lived out the philosophy of implementing initiatives focused on poverty alleviation,  economic empowerment and environmental sustainability but today’s event reinforces that  philosophy .

He commended the Kebbi State government under the able leadership of Governor Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu and its agencies and collaborator,  Tulsi Chanrai Foundation and all those who have made the Priceless Gift of Sight Program successful.

Wife of the Kebbi State Governor,  Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris in her address commended both the FCMB and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation for the significant programme which brought succor to the lesspriveladge persson affected by eye aliments.

Represented by the Commissioner of Health,  Comrade Yunusa Yauri,  Hajiya Nafisa called on other banks and Foundations to emulate FCMB and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation initiatives in assisting members of the society suffering from various diseases in Kebbi State.
