The curfew imposed by the Kano State Government as a result of looting and violence during the hunger protest has been lifted as normalcy gradually returns.
In a statement released on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Facebook page on Monday, his media aide Salisu Yahya Hotoro announced the lifting of the curfew.
“The 24-hour curfew imposed on Kano has been effectively lifted as peace has completely returned to the city,” the statement read.
Initially, a 24-hour curfew was imposed to contain the situation, which was later relaxed to 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to allow for business activities
