A prayer session for peac was held at Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, capital of Kebbi State to mark commencement of the New Islamic Year 1446AH .
It was organised by the ministry of religious affairs , conducted by some select Islamic scholars where they offered prayers for peace to reign in Governor Nasir Idris led administration and also seek God’s intervention to do away with all sorts of criminality in the state.
Those who offered prayers include Sheik Nuraini Kamba, Sheik Abubakar Birnin Kebbi, Sheik Sauwa chief Imam of Government House and Sheik Muktar Birnin Kebbi among others.
Secretary to the state government, Yakubu Bala-Tafida who represented the Governor in his speech after the prayer session thanked the organisers of the session and also tasked the scholars to continue offering prayers for peace to reign in the state.
He said Kauran Gwandu led administration has mapped out plans to construct more mosques and Islamic schools and other religious centres in the state where Islamic activities will be propagated.
The SSG however was optimistic that the prayers offered by the scholars will by God grace, the state witness peace and abolishment of all evil activities .
