Kebbi celebrates with Orphans,  Vulnerable Children

The Government of Kebbi State has organised a party for orphans and vulnerable children in the state in commemoration of Eid-el-Fitr  celebration.

The get-together was meant to give the orphans a sense of belonging by putting a smile on their faces.

Speaking at the occasion which was organized through the Ministry for Women Affairs held yesterday at the state ministry for women affairs, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs,  Halima Hassan, said the ministry has organised the event to make the orphans feel at home.

“We want the orphans to be like other children, whose parents are still alive, hence the decision to celebrate with them to give them a sense of belonging,” she said.

She  commended the state government for the support and assistance towards the success of the event.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Aishatu Maikurata lauded the commissioner for her efforts toi organise such an important events, saying that the commissioner had done a lot for the ministry within her short period.

The occasion featured competition for the children at the event as well as presentation of prizes to the winners of the competition

The officials took the children to the Jadeen Zoo and Park at Kalgo Local Government, outskirt of Birnin Kebbi where they were happily conducted round the zoo to have a grumps of both wild and domestic animals.
