After years of lagging behind other sporting invents in Kaduna,Basketball will soon return to the sporting arena.
This is due to the efforts of the Kaduna State Ministry for sports development and the National Basketball Federation, NBBF. The president of the NBBF was represented by Mr Victor Okoro
Part of the efforts to revive the sporting event include sharing of ideas on how best to attract government and private sector operators to develop the event and makes it a tool of social cohesion, a political instrument for improving awareness and economic growth and development.
It’s based on this that an official from the office of the president of NBBF visited Hon Sa’idu Idris Dibis, Special Assistant on Sports Development to Kaduna State Governor, and discuss some of the strategies needed to revive basketball in Kaduna State.
After sharing ideas on the way forward in bringing back basketball to the table of events which is intended to boost political activities and economic growth as well as fostering peace and especially among youths, the two parties resolved to work together to achieve the desired goals.
In a mark of honours, the visiting basketballer presented some sports wears to Hon Dibis who wasvisibly elated by the gifts.
