Voters in five poling units in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State trooped out Saturday morning to decide the political fate of Dahiru Liman as the representative of Makera Constituency as well as the speaker in the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The election process commenced on scheduled as election personnel and voting materials were dispatched to polling units affected in the re run elections in time.
The Electoral Officer in charge of
South Local Government, Alh Usman Mohammed Bena told Kunnen Gari online that there were no challenges as for distribution of materials and believed the exercise would go smoothly.
The voting exercise commenced at 8.15 am at polling unit 005 located at Government Day Secondary School Barnawa which has 750 registered voters .
Serious contenders in the election are the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Yusuf Dahiru Liman, and .Mr Solomon Nuhu Katuka of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP
There was an appreciable turn out of voters of both men and women who were conducting themselves orderly in the presence of party agents.
Some election observers from APC and PDP expressed satisfaction on the election process and prayed that it would conclude successfully.

In Kakuri Gwari voting center, unit 006, there are 795 registered voters. Voters were already casting their votes as at 9.30 and there were complaints. from the party agents, voters and INEC officials.
The security agents, especially personnel of the military, police and NSDC were on the alert to safeguard the process from being threatened. The presence of military personnel was more pronounced at this voting center probably due to its proximity to Defence Industries Corporation, DIC establishment.
At Kakuri Hausa, voting unit number 045 at Gora Street, the registered voters stand at 305 with very impressive turn out and voters conducting themselves orderly.

Although there was no complain of any challenges at the center, there were indications of some anxiety from voters as many stayed back after casting their votes. This may not be unconnected to their desire in ensuring their votes are counted and counted for the candidates of their choice.
and Justice P. A Obiora dismissed the appeal filed by the APC and Liman, sacking Liman and ordered a rerun in five polling units of Barnawa wards PU 005 and PU 009, Kakuri Gwari ward PU 006, Television ward PU 022 and Kakuri Hausa ward PU 045.
