Mashi LGC chairman warns contractor

The Chairman Mashi Local Government Council Alhaji Salisu Kallah has ordered the Contractor handling the construction of a 5.5kilometre Latrite road from Dankada to Birnin Kuka to withdraw workers he engaged and get another set for the betterment of the job.

Alhaji Salisu Kallah made the revelation on Wednesday while conducting Media Team of the State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs round the projects embarked upon by his Council.

The Chairman became worried when he observed that the absence of clearing and use of low quality Latrite filling put in place, which he claimed that the Bill of Quantity of the project was not followed.

Salisu Kallah pointed out that he will not condone laxity on the road project which the community had been lobbying for over 50 years to be wasted.

He commended the efforts of Radda administration and that of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi toward reviving the image of local councils in the state.

Other Projects  embarked upon by the local council so far visited by the Media Team include completed construction work and painting of wall fencing of the Divisional Police Headquarters in Mashi Town.

In a remark, the APC Chairman of the area Alhaji Dantine Ibrahim Mashi described the Chairman of the local council as peace loving who dedicates his strength, time and wealth for the benefit of the common man in the area.

In another development, the Media Team has visited Bindawa LGA where the Chairman of the local council Alhaji Badaru Musa Giremawa conducted members round some projects being executed by his Council.

The projects include the on going construction of an 11 Kilometre Latrite road from Bindawa to Tarjamu to Dan Ali to Mun Dadu which reached advanced stage.

Others are already completed Slaughter House with a borehole for the supply of enough water attached at Doro Town, and electrification project with a replacement of 200KVA Transformer installed with the initial 300KVA  approved in the Bill of Quantity of the project for Dakwale Village.

The Chairman explained that his Council proposes for more vital projects such as provision of portable drinking water, promotion of Health status and Latrite roads to uplift peoples’ living standard in the area.

Alhaji Badaru Giremawa said already 38 boreholes have been provided across the area and pledged to extend the electrification project in the 2nd phase of projects execution expected to be approved by the state government.

Giremawa expressed appreciation to the state Governor and Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs over the role being played for the promotion of peoples’living standard in the area.

Some beneficiaries of the Projects including Sale Liman Badarwayya,Musa Wara -Wara Dan Ali, Abdulrahman Turjamu and Alhaji Muhammad Kabir expressed gratitude for the concern shown by the state Governor, Ministry for Local Government and the Chairman of the local council.
