As part of its efforts to ensure proper monitoring and supervision of Schools, the Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board has purchased and distributed 9 Hijet Vehicles to the Education Secretaries in the State
Presenting the Vehicles to the Education Secretaries, the Executive Chairman Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board,Alhaji Kabir Magaji revealed that the vehicles were purchased by the board in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC Alhaji Kabir Magaji stated that the distribution of the vehicles was to ensure qualitative and sound Education was provided ,which is inline with the Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda agenda to repositioning the Education Sector in the State
The Executive Chairman then implored the Education Secretaries to make good utisation of the Vehicles to official function rather than personal.
Alh Kabir Magaji emphasised that the Education Secretaries would be held responsible for lack of maintenance of the vehicles .
Earlier in a welcome address, the Director Quality Assurance of the Board, Alhaji Muhd Lawal Kankia explained that the vehicles were purchased with the 2% of the Matching Grants accessed from Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC.
He said that seven of the vehicles would be distributed to the Education Secretaries of the former Seven Local Governments in the State while the remaining 2 would be stationed at the Board’s Headquarters
Alh Lawal Kankia further said that the Board, in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission would purchase another 20 Vehicles with the 2% of 2023/2024 Matching Grants
In his vote of thanks the Chairman National Association of Education Secretaries katsina State Branch, Alhaji Zaharaddin Umar Danmusa expressed his appreciation to the Board in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission for providing them with the monitoring vehicles
He then assured that the vehicles would be judiciously utilised for the purpose of monitoring and evaluation of schools in the State
