Kaduna State Governor,Senator Uba Sani has congratulated two serving members of the Kaduna State Government: Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Sule Shuaibu, and Deputy Chief of Staff (Legal and Legislative Matters), Chris Adapar Umar on their conferment with the noble rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Governor Uba Sani in a congratulatory message described the Learned Silks as
“highly resourceful, articulate, eloquent and hardworking”, adding that they both have made immeasurable contributions to the advancement of the legal profession in Nigeria and the progress and development of Kaduna State.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992 and has diligently practiced as a lawyer for over three decades, holding leading positions such as Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Kaduna Chapter, Member Federal Government Assessment Committee on Federal Unity Colleges, Member Nigerian Bar Association Disciplinary Committee, amongst others.
Chris Adapar Umar Esq, the current Deputy Chief of Staff -Legislative and Legal Matters to the Kaduna State Government, is a graduate of the University of Abuja and holds a Masters Degree in Industrial and Labour Relations from the Kaduna State University, International Practice Diploma from College of England and Wales. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002 and appointed a Notary Public in 2010.
With a career spanning over 22 years in the private and public sectors, Chris Umar has served in several capacities such as the Special Adviser, Legal Matters, Secretary and Legal Adviser Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue (KADIRS), Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice Kaduna State, Member and Alternate Chairman Kaduna State Law Review Committee.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association , International Bar Association, Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Arbitration UK and Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel.
Governor Uba Sani has expressed his pride in them stating that he is confident that their elevation to the rank of SAN will spur them to break new grounds and “inspire other members of the Kaduna State Government team to aspire for excellence.”
