Katsina @36: Governor Radda Appreciates IBB, Founding Fathers, Tasks Citizens on Development Efforts
The people of Katsina have received warm congratulations from Governor Dikko Umaru Radda as the State celebrates 36 years since its founding.
Radda claims that despite some teething developmental challenges, Katsina has experienced unprecedented socio-economic growth over the past three decades.

On September 23, 1987, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s military administration established Katsina alongside Akwa Ibom State.
Governor Radda congratulated Katsina residents and citizens on the 36th anniversary of the state’s founding and effusively praised Gen. Babangidas for “purposefully” establishing the city so that it could join the conflagration of federation-affiliated States in a message that he personally signed.
“Katsina State would never have existed if it weren’t for the admirable vision of our esteemed former Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.” As a sub-federal entity, perhaps our beloved Katsina State would not have been able to carry out its divine purpose and mission.
Because of this, we as a people must beat the drums to commemorate this momentous occasion, which was only made possible by one of Nigeria’s modern architects. Gen. Babangida’s singular wisdom in creating our beloved State will always be owed to us.

Again, it would be treacherous to overlook some well-known Katsina public figures from 36 years ago who fought valiantly and patriotically for the establishment of our beloved State. We also want to express our gratitude to them.
They serve as the visionaries and catalysts for our great and promising Katsina’s evolution. They will always receive good treatment from history and future generations. And our people will always have fond admiration for them and happy memories of them, he declared.
The fifth democratically elected governor of the state, Malam Dikko Radda, explained that despite Katsina being older than the other 19th States in the federation, the State still has unmatched human capital assets in addition to an abundance of natural resources.
“So many things, in the comity of Nigerian States, stand out to our dear Katsina,” he said. Both natural and human resources are extremely valuable to us. In many ways, our lovely state serves as an example for others.
In addition to producing two presidents for Nigeria, Katsina also gave birth to late Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, a vice president, and other notable individuals whose contributions to the country’s development are indelible.
Governor Radda noted that Katsina’s government is assiduously working to restore peace and security despite the fact that the country is currently plagued by armed banditry and terrorism.
He noted that since joining the State on May 29 of this year, the All Progressives Congress, which is led by the APC, has introduced effective policies and adequately funded security organizations and institutions in Katsina.
In order to give them a comfortable working environment that will ultimately improve their morale, we have also provided logistics support to the State’s Police, Nigerian Army, and other security agencies.
The recently inaugurated Community Watch Officers will support the State’s traditional security institutions’ efforts. He continued, “Let me not forget that our administration has also regulated and is properly coordinating the activities of state-owned commercial vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycle owners.
Radda explained that his administration has given the State’s agricultural and livestock sector priority attention by significantly empowering farmers and youths in an effort to quicken the socio-economic development of Katsina.
He noted that his administration had made notable progress over the previous three months, particularly in terms of revamping Katsina’s health and education sectors.
That’s not the only thing we’re doing, he said. For our vulnerable women and young people who are unemployed, we have also started a number of social investment programs. We are developing workable administrative policies that will help the State’s private sector. Similar to this, our government is gradually modifying policies to increase IGR, or the State’s Internal Generated Revenue.
The State’s citizens were urged by Governor Radda to recommit to the task of creating a PROSPEROUS and GREATER KATSINA, which would serve as the center of socio-economic development in the nation.
Signed:
Mohammed Ibrahim Kaula
Governor Katsina CPS.
