In efforts to avoid military confrontations between the military government in Niger Republic and the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, the delegation led by Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar rtd has met with ousted Nigerien President, Mohamed Bazoum.
The delegation includes the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III arrived in Niamey on Saturday for a fresh round of negotiations with the military junta in the country. was received by the new Prime Minister, Ali Lamine Zeine.
BBC Hausa reported that the meeting with representative of the troubled West African Country reportedly lasted about 90 minutes.
Radio France International (RFI) radio station said the ECOWAS delegation visited Bazoum and his family who have been in detention since July 26.
