In which way can the argument that there is lull in Kaduna State as a result of ‘decline’ of the activities of government be sustained?
How can anybody prove that the new government of the state under Senator Uba Sani has not yet done enough to register its presence in the people’s minds?
As an expert in positive political activism, the new Kaduna State Governor is not the kind of leader who will, even in the most challenging moment, either abandon his duty post or handle matters negligently.
He, as a former pro-democracy activist, political appointee and senator, has a history of satisfactory performance; the very reason for which the majority of eligible voters in Kaduna State zeroed their minds on him during the last gubernatorial election.
This is a confidence that the governor naturally respects and consistently tries to justify as evident in his clear zeal with which he has begun to address issues. Every bit of his actions so far is fully indicative of a complete readiness for the kind of performance that will keep the state fully alive.
In less than six weeks, strong foundations upon which critical activities of the government in various sectors will be carried out have already been laid. The clear sincerity of purpose with which he has taken steps towards the maximization of security, improvement of revenues, attraction of investments, determination of the status of projects for the purpose of re-prioritization and proper packaging of the government through the timely appointment of competent people into relevant positions is a product of a strong resolve to make his tenure extremely eventful and impactful.
It was in a very quick succession that positive developments unfolded in the state as the governor, at reasonably high speed, interfaced with Heads of Security Agencies and assured them of a real support towards the fight against crimes, set up one committee on the state parastatals and another one on abandoned projects, engaged private firm—Deloite Nigeria—on the vital issue of revenue generation and also entered into a tripartite agreement on a proposed mass housing programme with the Embassy of Republic of Qatar in Nigeria and Qatar Charity, which is obviously an organization that provides support for deserving countries.
All these and some other activities have already necessitated the conclusion that ‘lull’ exists, not in Kaduna State, but in the wildest imagination of the opponents of Governor Uba Sani.
