The Katsina State All Progressives Congress, APC has expressed appreciation over the support it enjoyed before, during and after the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections and urged them to consolidate it during the March 11 governorship and state assembly elections.
The appreciation was made by a member of APC Presidential Campaign Council and Director General Tinubu/Shettima campaign for Katsina Central, Prof Badamasi Lawal in a telephone interview with Kunnen Gari online news, Saturday.
Prof. Badamasi Lawal said the support of the voters and other stakeholders of the APC in Katsina State was responsible for the success recorded by the party. He therefore congratulated the voters for making sure their votes count in the resounding victory democracy the party has recorded so far.
Recall that the APC won the three senatorial seats and nine out of 15 federal constituencies in the state and over 40% of the presidential votes in the state. In fact, Katsina State ranks third in turning votes that made APC won the presidential election in Nigeria.
Prof Badamasi urged voters to consolidate their successes by extending the same gesture to the party and its candidates in the March 11 governorship and state assembly elections, especially that party is fielding candidates of impeccable character, will and commitment to the ideals of responsive leadership and good governance.
Katsina State has made its marks on leadership and democracy in Nigeria by remaining a visible political player over the years, thus, there is the need to maintain the tempo and consolidate the gains at the state level.
Prof Badamasi Lawal urged voters and and all Nigerian citizens to turn out en mass to vote APC candidates to ensure sustainable democratic project development.
Katsina State APC has fielded Dr Dikko Umar Radda as its gubernatorial candidate against main contenders, Sen. Yakubu Lado of the PDP and Eng Nura Khalil of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP
