By Lawal Gwanda: The number of security personnel, particularly the Police, in Nigeria
is order to deal with security challenges is inadequate, hence the need for the Senate to make legislation that would ensure mass recruitment of the Police.
This was disclosed by the All Progressives Congress, APC Senatorial Candidate for Katsina Central, Col Abdulazeez Musa’Yar’adua Rtd, saying l the focus of his legislative service if elected, will be anchored on the seven point strategic legislative agenda in addition to other numerous responsibilities expected of a serving Senator.
He pledged to contribute immensely towards tackling security challenges affecting the Senatorial District, the State and the nation, through presentation of alternative approaches to security issues.
The Senatorial Candidate made this known on Tuesday at a Town Hall Meeting organised for various segments of Support Groups, CSOs, Youth and Women Political Groups among others in Katsina.
He similarly assured his commitment to facilitate employment opportunities for unemployed youth to reduce restiveness.
Abdu Soja also expressed readiness to collaborate with the state government and stakeholders of Katsina Central
Senatorial District, to deliver constituency projects, and ensure effectiveness of oversight functions relating to Federal Government projects.
Earlier, the organiser of the meeting Mustapha Abdu Radda explained that the Town hall meeting was organised for organisations and political groups from the eleven local government ares of the Senatorial Zone.
Later, the Senatorial Candidate met with Lecturers of Universities and other tertiary institutions.
