No shift in 2023 elections dates

385

The dates fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the conduct of the 2023 general election are fixed and firm,.

The Commissioner for information and voter education of INEC, Festus Okoye denied any plans of extension saying the dates fixed for the conduct of the elections remain firm.
This is against the insinuations
that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may shift the February 25 presidential election due to logistics issues.

Some of the issues raised to support the insinuations are the incessant burning of INEC offices, especially in the South East, Boko Haram terrorists attacks in the South East and banditry in the North West. There is also

lingering fuel scarcity coupled with problems arising from the Naira redesign.

There are reports indicating the Commission is doing all it can to stick to the announced dates.
