Terrorists have attacked St. Peterl Catholic Church in Kafin-koro in Paikoro local government area of Niger killing Rev Father Isaac Achi, shot his colleague identified as Father Collins.and razed down the church building at 3 am, Sunday.
There are reports that the terrorists made attempted to gain entrance into the catholic parish house and in the course of having difficulty in gaining entrance set the parish house ablaze.
Father Collins, the Colleague of Rev. Father Achi, while trying to escape from the scene was shot in the shoulder
Niger police spokesman DSP Abiodun Wasiu confirmed the incident stating that police tactical teams attached to Kaffin-Koro Division have been drafted to the scene but before the police tactical team got to the scene, the terrorists had escaped.
He said that the corpse of Father Achi was recovered while Father Collins was rushed to the hospital for treatment
