JBPT Sector 4, Katsina marks unprecedented record

From Lawal Gwanda: The North West Zone Sector 4 of Joint Border Patrol Team Katsina has successfully made unprecedented record on  detentions/seizures, Migration reports and other trans-border activities.

The Coordinator of the Team Comptroller A J Omiye revealed this while briefing newsmen, Thursday in Katsina.

According to him, the cumulative Duty Paid Value of the items seized stands at over N1.142b.

Mr. Omiye revealed some of the items seized by the operatives of the Sector include arms and ammunition, explosive, and assorted items for domestic and other purposes.

Others are 17 cars, 1 Mitsubishi Canter, 1Hiace Toyota Bus and 9 Motorcycles.

The Coordinator said that the successes so far recorded showed that there are 9 suspects on administrative bail, 560 seizure, 169 total number of migrants refused entry.

Others are 70 total number of departures, 193 total number of returnees, 164 human trafficked and 326 total number of repatriations.

He said the track record was due to the continued efforts of the Sector in the enforcement of the government policy of border closure despite numerous difficulties like menace of banditry, boarder porosity, uninformed and hostile community, weather and other environmental challenges.

He therefore commended the efforts of inter-agency cooperation, information sharing, intelligence gathering and doggedness of the operatives of JBPT Sector 4 in making the sector unbearable for smugglers, illegal migrants and other transboarder criminals

He also used the opportunity to appeal to Nigerians to assist the sector in providing genuine information that could enhance the efforts of the sector’s operatives in the suppression of the menace of transboarder criminal activities.
