The Emir of Zazzau, His Riyal Highness, Amb Nuhu Ahmed Bamali has appreciated the efforts of the Federal government in addressing security concerns but called for improved measures across Northwestern states.
The Emir made the commendation when the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC Senator Kashim Shettima paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Zaria, Tuesday.
Sen Shettima said the Tinubu/Shetima presidency will place premium on tacking all forms of insecurity in the Northwest if elected.
He acknowledged the success achieved in the counter insurgency fight across states in the Northeast and promised that same will be done in the Northwest.
Sen. Shettima added that they will also ensure jobs are created for the growing youth population and make sure the AKK Pipeline is completed.
The APC vice presidential candidate and his entourage were warmly received by the Emir who charged them to keep to their promises if they eventually emerge winners.
He called on politicians and those in positions of authority to ensure the 2023 general elections are free and fair credible.
Recall that Zaria Local government area of Kaduna state which now has an estimated population of over a million people has been a strong hold of the APC.
They had in the 2019 Presidential elections polled over 111,000 votes to defeat their closest rival the PDP who managed 23,882 votes.
There are strong signals that the APC will maintain their lead in Zaria and indeed Kaduna in the 2023 presidential elections as the strong hold areas of the PDP are being threatened by the emergence of the Labour Party Presidential candidate
