By Ahmed Abdulkadir: The Katsina State APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda stormed Ɗanmusa Local Government Area and took over the supporters of the erstwhile Secretary to Katsina State Government, Mustapha Inuwa.
Mustapha Inuwa recently decamped from the ruling party in the state, the APC, to the main opposition party, PDP, when he lost out to Dr. Radda for the position of the gubernatorial candidate in a free and fair primary election. The PDP has now made him its campaign Director-General.
More than 1900 supporters of the former SGS crossed-carpets from mainly PDP and other parties into the APC. They were received by the APC Katsina State Gubernatorial Candidate himself, Dr. Dikko Radda.
The decampees were led by one of most prominent local government chairmen Ɗanmusa local government had ever produced, Sani Abu Minister. Sani Abu led the complete structure of the PDP from each of the 11 wards of the local government area into the folds of the APC.
He also donated a complete office complex to the APC, which Dr. Radda commissioned during the visit.
Another big catch the APC made was the former Chief Security Officer of the defunct Bank of the North, Ltd., Abdulhamid Aliyu Ɗanmusa, who also defected to APC, from PDP. Abdulhamid was also a retired DSS officer and at one time, he had been a Sole Administrator of Ɗanmusa Local Government Council.
Both Sani Abu Minister and Abdulhamid Aliyu Ɗanmusa wielded a lot of political influence in Ɗanmusa Local Government Area.
The District Head of Ɗanmusa, Darda’u Mu’azu, his village and ward heads all pledged total support to the APC Gubernatorial Candidate.
From the District Head’s house, Dr. Dikko Radda trekked for several kilometers amidst a tumultuous crowd of supporters singing, dancing and chanting hilarious songs against the former SGS in Hausa, “Ba mu son turmi”, meaning, we don’t want mortar.
The previous day, the APC Gubernatorial Candidate had also toured Dutsinma Local Government Area where he received a warm welcome. Dutsinma was where the gubernatorial candidate was born even though he is an indigene of Charanci Local Government Area.
Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, was also among those who campaigned for Dr. Radda in Dutsinma.
Dr Dikko was accompanied during the visits by his running mate, Alhaji Faruk Joɓe, the APC Katsina State Chairman, Sani Daura, the Director-General, APC Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, The APC Katsina Central Senatorial Candidate, Rtd. Colonel Abdul’aziz Musa Ƴar’Adua, other contestants and many other important dignitaries.
