After taking its campaigns to 12 local government areas and 128 wards of Daura zone, the Katsina State All APC resumes guber campaign in Katsina Congress, APC gubernatorial campaigns took a break and rested for 10 days.
Recall that the gubernatorial campaign was flagged off in Faskari, Faskari Local Government early December with massive supporters in attendence.
The campaigns resumed today in Katsina Central Senatorial Zone beginning from Kaita Local Government Area. Katsina Central Zone consists of Kaita, Jibia, Katsina, Batagarawa, Rimi, Charanchi, Kurfi, Dutinma, Safana, Batsari and Danmusa local governments.
The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Dr Dikko Umar Radda is from the central zone and the state capital, Katsina is in the central zone. For 16 years, from 1999 to 2015, the zone held power under late Ummaru Musa ‘Yar’adua and Barr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema. on the plaform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The tour of Daura zone has generated unprecedented support for the candidate and the APC. The support was consolidated by the ward level consultation embarked upon by the Dikko/Jobe campaign team.
The Katsina central zone campaigns would also be a further consolidation of the success recorded in Daura especially after appraising the Daura outing. The strategy for the campaigns in the central zone may have to be an improvement on what happened in Daura for some reasons.
The central zone is more cosmopolitan especially in Katsina city and environs. It is also the most banditry ravaged area in the state. Most local government areas destroyed by terrorist are in the central zone. These areas include Jibia, Batsari, Kurfi, Safana, Dutsinma, Safana and Danmusa local government areas.
Ordinarily the zone provides a large chunk of votes during elections the destruction by banditry and kidnappings may change the equations. The security situation in these areas may alter the ward to ward campaign strategy especially when the campaigns run into late evening.
But notwithstanding the challenges in the terrain, the Zonal Campaign Director, Prof Badamasi Lawal said they will soldier on and reach communities in the wards within central zone.
He said vising communities at the ward level is to give them hope of a better life under the coming administration at the state and federal level. It will also avail the in coming governor with realistic situation of various communities in the state, and will tremendously help on planning development strategies.
Prof Badamasi urged citizens in the zone to turn out emerse and support the Dikko/Jobe ticket in the 2023 elections to consolidate on the achievements of the Governor Masari administration.
He emphasised that Dr Dikko Radda is more qualified for the job due to his political and leadership antecedents, humility, ability and capacity to listen and take advise from others.
Dr Dikko has vertical and horizontal support amongst members of the society and he doesn’t ag lolree with your perspective, he does it with humility, respect and honour.
