The Kaduna Capital Territory Authority (KCTA) has warned politicians against pasting campaign posters on public infrastructure like flyovers, roundabouts, walls, streetlights, and traffic light posts in the city.
The administrator, Kaduna Capital Territory Authority, Hafiz Bayero, advised political parties and supporters to use alternative materials such as polymer, vinyl, polythene banners, billboards, flyers and handbills/pamphlets instead of campaign posters.
Hafiz Bayero declared the readiness of KCTA to close down campaign offices of any contestant who violates the post no bill order, stressing that political parties and their supporters must comply with the order or face the penalty, Bayero emphasized while speaking newsmen in Kaduna.
Bayero said placing posters on public infrastructure like flyovers, roundabouts, walls, streetlights, and traffic light posts in the city was not allowed.
The notice against placing of posters on public infrastructure followed the lifting of the ban on campaigns for the 2023 elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
KCTA stressed that it would not hesitate to fine the campaign offices of candidates whose posters violate the notice.
