Nigeria has started producing top-of-the-range Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC), and Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has also begun exporting them to neighboring African countries currently embroiled in the war against insurgency. Some of the vehicles have also been acquired by United Nations to be used in its peace-keeping missions around the continent.
This was revealed by Mr. Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity. Pictures of some military-grade combat vehicles were posted on his verified Facebook page
The actions begun generating reactions from the posts.
Mr. Adesina wrote; “President Buhari scores another first as Nigeria manufactures and exports made in Nigeria highly sophisticated Armored Personnel Carriers to Rwanda, Chad, South Sudan, Central African Republic. And UN Nations Peacekeeping Mission acquired some.”
The pictures drew mixed reactions from Nigerians online as many of them trooped to the comments section to share their thoughts on the development.
While some persons indicated that the manufacturing company, PRO FORCE, has been In Nigeria long before the present government came into power, others, however, gave kudos to the Buhari regime for achieving such a feat.
