The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) is beginning to redefine itself politically by joining other political parties and seeking elections in different political parties towards the buildup to 2023 general elections.
Thus Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has commended the emergence of four candidates from Southern Kaduna contesting the 2023 general elections on different political platforms,
Before this development, the PDP enjoys a near monopoly of followership in Southern Kaduna and the support has been unwavering since 1999
After failing to secure the tickets of the two major political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).the Southern Kaduna politicians decided to look outside the box and pitched their political tents with some other political parties to seek power.

after failing to obtain the tickets of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). it has become necessary for the union to state its position on the increased interest of Southern Kaduna sons in the governorship.
The candidates that opted out of the two major parties are Timothy Adamu of the Action Alliance (AA), Rev. Andrew Duya of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sen. Caleb Zagi of African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Jonathan Asake of the Labour Party (LP).
The SOKAPU Chairman said: “SOKAPU wishes to congratulate these courageous individuals who secured the nomination of their parties after no candidate of Southern Kaduna extraction was able to secure the nomination of any of the two major parties in the country, the APC and PDP.”
“We believe that Southern Kaduna under SOKAPU should be unanimous now and going forward in making a very strong case for gubernatorial power shift or rotation in Kaduna.”
