The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajuddeen Abbas is expected to grace the innaugral meeting of Katsina Teachers College Alumni Association planned to hold July 1, 2023.
Hon Tajuddeen Abbas, was a 1981 graduate of the college.
The general meeting is in preparation for the establishment of Katsina College Katsina Alumni Association.
An invitation for the meeting has been extended to all old students for meeting at Dr.Shehu Idris Hall, Katsina College Assembly Hall.
Katsina Teachers College was established in 1926 as Katsina College. It produced prominent Nigerians such as Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the first Prime Minister of Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna, the former Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Kashim Ibrahim, the first governor of Northern Nigeria, His Royal Highness the late Emir of Zazzau, Alh Shehu Idris, the late Malam Aminu Kan etc.
The college also produced academicians who upscaled education at the state and federal levels and attained enviable heights as academicians and education managers.
Shedding more light on the event, the Secretary of KTC 1979 Graduates, Alh Kabir Lawal Ruma said its primary purpose is to bring the old students closer for the benefit of the college and strengthens the bond of relation amongst the old boys as ideas and historical relationships can be shared
