Niger Governor demolishes filling station

The Governor of Niger State Mohammed Umaru Bago has revoked the certificate of occupancy of a filling station and ordered its demolition in Minna, the state capital.

The filling station is located along Ketaren Gwari, in the Minna metropolis because the structure was illegal and its location was not safe for the people of the area, insisting that he had earlier asked the owners to stop work.

Gov Bago said: “We have a report of the illegal structure, and I have asked the Urban Development Board to stop them from working, but they continued, so we revoked the C of O from today, and we will mark it for demolition.”

He further insisted: “It’s uncalled for in the midst of people, it’s hazardous to their lives, and it’s not acceptable
