Senate Presidency: APC settles for Akpabio

The zoning formula for the leadership of the 10th National Assembly has finally been released by the All Progressives Congress, APC.

 A statement signed by Barr. Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the party said  the National Working Committee of the party announced the positions of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, naming Senator Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abass respectively.

The statement revealed that the party’s National Working Committee had considered reports of consultations and meetings with President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, other party leaders, and stakeholders on the zoning arrangement for the leadership positions.

The NWC also called for further consultations with all necessary stakeholders to ensure the support of aspirants to the National Assembly leadership positions and party members across the country.

Hon Tajudden Abbas

The zoning arrangement indicates the presidency of the senate has been slated for the South South while the position of the deputy president of the senate was shared for the North West zone. The NWC has also settled for Sen Godswill Akpabio for the presidency of the senate and Sen Barau Jibrin as a deputy president of the senate.

Hon Ben Kalu

The APC statement said the party has settled for zoning the speaker ship to the North West with Hon Tajuddeen Abbas from Kaduna State as it’s preferred choice. He is pared with Hon Ben Kalu from Abia State.
