* District Head of Ketare Commends Radda’s Security Interventions, Seeks Stronger Community Watch Corps

In continuation of the Tinubu/Dikko campaign in Kankara Local Government Area,  Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has visited the palace of Kanwan Katsina in Ketare where he emphasised the importance of collective responsibility, public cooperation and sustained engagement in consolidating development gains and addressing outstanding challenges across the state.

The Gov described traditional institutions as indispensable partners in governance, particularly in promoting peace, strengthening community unity and mobilising grassroots support for development.

He said that in nearly three and a half years, his administration had worked closely with security agencies and local communities to address insecurity while pursuing improvements in education, economic development and citizens’ welfare.

“We have faced numerous challenges since assuming office. However, with His guidance and the cooperation of the people of Katsina State, we have made meaningful progress in security, education, economic development and the general well-being of our people,” he said.

Governor Radda acknowledged that despite the progress recorded, significant responsibilities remained, stressing that sustaining development requires continuous public engagement, cooperation and collective commitment.

He appreciated the District Head and the people of Ketare for their warm reception, assuring them of his administration’s continued commitment to working with traditional and community leaders to advance peace, unity and development.

Earlier, the Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, commended Governor Radda for his administration’s security interventions, particularly the establishment and expansion of the Community Watch Corps (CWC).

The traditional ruler recalled that during the Governor’s 2023 election campaign, the people of Ketare had raised concerns over insecurity along their roads and in surrounding communities, to which he promised decisive action if elected.

“Your Excellency, you assured us during your campaign that your administration would address our security challenges. Shortly after assuming office, you established the Community Watch Corps, which has contributed to improving security in our communities,” he said.

Alhaji Usman Bello identified Katsina, Danmusa, Faskari, Sabuwa and Ketare among the areas that had experienced improvements through the administration’s security interventions.

He particularly welcomed the recent recruitment and deployment of additional Community Watch Corps personnel, describing the move as an important reinforcement of grassroots security operations.

However, he appealed to the Governor to sustain and further strengthen the corps through additional support and capacity building to ensure more effective action against banditry and other criminal activities.

The District Head also acknowledged the administration’s interventions in infrastructure and human capital development, pledging the continued cooperation of the traditional institution and the people of Ketare.

He reaffirmed the community’s support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and prayed for continued guidance and success for both the Federal and Katsina State Governments.

Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe; Senator representing Funtua Senatorial District, Senator Muntari Dan-Dutse; Director-General of the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa; Dr Mustapha M Inuwa, Hon Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji Hamza Sule Faskari, government officials; traditional title holders; community leaders; APC executives and other stakeholders graced the rally.
