In what seems to be a strategic move to perfect integrationGov. Ab appoints Prof Malumfashi commissioner Higher Education and strengthen unity among different APC camps in Kano State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has injected new members into the state executive council while two were reassigned.
A reliable source close to council confirms that “this has become necessary as part of efforts to accommodate and redistribute ministerial responsibility among the old and new party members” since the mass defection of Governor Abba Kabir and his supporters early this year.
The newly appointed commissioners and their portfolio were Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u RTD, Ministry of Security and Social Services; Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi, Higher Education; Dr. Ibrahim Aminu Tsanyawa, Sience and Technology; Idris Garba Mustapha, Special Duties; others include Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai, Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation; Ibrahim Namadi Dala, Trade and Investment; while Sanusi Bature D/Tofa Balarabe S. Gani were still awaiting swearing -in and portfolios at the time of filing this report.
Two commissioners redeployed were Hamza Sufyan Kachako from Ministry of solid minerals to Environment and Comrade Abdullahi Waiya from Information to Youth and Sports.
The state House of Assembly had since past week screened and confirmed their nomination from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
