Political appointees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly those from Northern Nigeria, have been charged to take the message and achievements of the administration of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots.
The charge was given by a Co-Convener of the Nigeria Forward Project, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya in a statement issued on Thursday, stressing that ministers, special advisers, chairmen and chief executive officers of federal government agencies must communicate the administration’s policies and achievements more effectively to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the call by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, for federal appointees to improve communication of the administration’s achievements had become particularly important as the country approaches the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, the ongoing mobilisation by heads of federal government agencies and political leaders in support of President Tinubu’s re-election should go beyond political activities and provide an opportunity to explain the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda on the lives of Nigerians.
Waiya urged Northern appointees to use their positions to communicate the administration’s reforms, highlight measurable achievements and explain how government policies are creating opportunities, strengthening institutions, improving infrastructure and repositioning the economy.
He said the message should not be restricted to Abuja, but taken to markets, farms, businesses, universities and communities across the country.
“The aspirations of the citizens must become the language of the campaign. The 2027 elections will ultimately belong to Nigerians. They will judge the administration by what they have seen, experienced and understood,” he said.
Waiya urged the appointees not only to campaign for continuity but also to explain why continuity matters, defend the administration’s record with evidence and communicate its vision to the electorate.
He said the Renewed Hope Agenda should not remain a government slogan but should become a story that Nigerians could see and feel in their daily lives.
“Now is the time to take the Renewed Hope message to the people. Let the story be told. Let the achievements speak. Let the vision be explained,” he added.
Waiya said effective communication at the grassroots would help Nigerians better understand the administration’s policies and assess its performance ahead of the 2027 elections.
