Gov Radda re elecThe Katsina State Coordinator of the Katsina Youth Craft Village, Engr Kabir Abdullahi Kofar Soro, has launched a new political movement aimed at mobilizing the people of Katsina state for the second term bid of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
The movement, known as the Dikko Mandate for Continuity 2027, was formally unveiled in Katsina on Monday.
In a statement, Kofar Soro said the group would focus on grassroots engagement, civic participation and communication of government programmes across the 34 local government areas of the state.
He said the formation of the movement was informed by the development initiatives and programmes implemented by the Radda administration since assuming office in 2023.
Kofar Soro listed education, youth skills development, entrepreneurship, agriculture, infrastructure and community development as key areas that inspired the group.
He cited figures published by the state government, including the construction of 170 junior secondary schools, rehabilitation of 300 schools, renovation of 150 primary schools and the development of Model and Smart Schools equipped with digital and technology-related facilities.
On youth development, he noted that 1,169 youths completed the Mechatronics Apprenticeship Programme and received starter-pack support, while over 2,000 graduates of the Katsina Youth Craft Village were also supported with starter packs. He said billions of naira had been expended on the renovation and equipping of the craft village with state-of-the-art equipment.
He added that the administration had invested in community-level development across the 361 wards of the state, as well as scholarships, student support, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship initiatives.
“The movement will seek to establish a structured presence across communities and maintain engagement with young people and other segments of society,” Kofar Soro said.
He said the group would place emphasis on peaceful political participation, issue-based engagement, respect for democratic institutions and constructive dialogue as the 2027 elections approach.
According to him, the activities of the movement would be conducted within the framework of Nigeria’s electoral laws and the guidelines of relevant electoral authorities.
