The Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi, has provided relief support to about 1000 orphans* in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Each beneficiary received one bag of maize and N2,000 cash another donation of N1.6M by the Member representing the LGA in the House of Assembly Hon. Lawal Isah Kuraye as well as another N2M by the LGA Chairman
The distribution, held on Saturday at the premises of the Charanchi LGA Secretariat, was part of Professor Charanchi’s personal initiative to cushion the hardship faced by orphans and their caregivers.
The beneficiaries were selected from 141 polling units across the 10 political wards of Charanchi LGA. The transparent selection process was carried out by Committees set up in each ward to verify and confirm eligible orphans.
Addressing the gathering, Professor Badamasi reaffirmed his total commitment and loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He stated: “We are in the APC, we are working for the APC, and we will continue to work for the APC. Now, we have the courage to speak up and defend the interests of our Party, the APC.”
Professor Badamasi urged the people of Charanchi to continue supporting the APC to enable them to keep benefiting from the dividends of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
He also commended the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for his numerous developmental projects across the state, stressing that Charanchi LGA is now ahead in terms of development.
In his goodwill message, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Hon. Bishir Gambo Saulawa represented by the Katsina Central Zonal Vice Chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Asasanta expressed satisfaction with the way APC members are playing a vital role in providing different forms of support to the people.
He said the effort by Professor Badamasi Lawal has set a good example and will further encourage the people of the area to renew their confidence in the APC in the 2027 elections.
The Sarkin Shanun Katsina District Head of Charanci Alhaji Abashe Abdulkadir commended political office holders from the area for their efforts in supporting the people accordingly.
Alhaji Abashe prayed for the continuity of such gestures, noting that caring for orphans is an ongoing charity.
He further reaffirmed the support of the Charanchi community for the President, the Governor, and all Federal and State Lawmakers under the APC platform in the 2027 elections.
The Chairman of Charanchi Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Sani, represented by his Vice Hon Aminu Hassan acknowledged the developmental strides of Governor Radda and the APC that have been brought to the Local Government.
