The Kaduna State Government has inaugurated the governing boards of four state agencies, including the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), charging the newly appointed members to drive efficiency, integrity, and digital transformation.
The joint inauguration ceremony, held Thursday at the Banquet Hall in Kawo, Kaduna, was presided over by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Mayere, who represented Gov. Uba Sani.
Along with the media corporation, the government inaugurated the boards for the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority, the Kaduna State Quality Assurance Authority, and the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Abdulkadir Mayere charged the board members to adhere strictly to enabling laws, maintain financial transparency, and avoid conflicts of interest while providing policy oversight rather than interfering in daily administrative operations.
The newly constituted six-member KSMC board is chaired by veteran journalist and media executive Mallam El-Said Yakubu Lere. Yunusa Mohammed Abdullahi, the state’s director of media relations, will also serve on the board to represent the Ministry of Information and Culture and align the station’s operations with state communication policies.
The core mandates outlined for the media corporation’s new board include providing strategic policy direction to improve operational efficiency, upgrading broadcast equipment to expand digital content delivery, producing educational and balanced programming, and ensuring strict adherence to state procurement laws, extant financial regulations, and statutory broadcasting standards.
Delivering a joint response on behalf of all the inaugurated boards, Tanko Kokwain Baji, chairman of the Kaduna State Quality Assurance Authority board thanked Gov. Sani for the opportunity to serve.
Braimoh assured that the boards would dedicate their energy toward repositioning the state as a benchmark for excellence, particularly highlighting plans to strengthen educational standards and address the plight of out-of-school children.
“We shall do the best we can to deliver on these tasks,” Kokwain said, calling for transparency, unity of purpose, and institutional discipline across all affected sectors.
