Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has sent the name of Murtala Sule Garo to the Kano State House of Assembly for confirmation as deputy governor.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustafa Muhammad Inuwa, the Governor, in his transmission to the Kano State House of Assembly Speaker, stated that the action was in line with section 191(3) of 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after due consultation with stakeholders and therefore request for the Assembly’s consent.
With development, Murtala Sule Garo 48, is set to replace the former occupant of the post, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam who resigned on March 27th this year.
Prior to this, Murtala is the earstwhile gubernatorial running mate to Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna in 2023 elections.
He held various political posts as State party Organiser, Special Adviser, Intergovernmental Affairs, Executive Chairman, Kabo Local Government and State Commissioner for Local Government under Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
