KDSG intensifies campus road projects

As part of efforts to improve connectivity in tertiary institutions in Kaduna State Government has intensified road infrastructure development at the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Tahis was disclosed by the Managing Director of Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday in Kaduna.
Baba-Ahmed said theo asphalt laying was ongoing on the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, a project, initiated by Gov. Uba Sani and has reached 95 per cent completion. Contractors were mobilised to site in October 2025 and delivery expected within two weeks.
According to him, the intervention is part of 150 road projects launched by the governor, covering a total of 1,345 kilometres across the state within the first two and a half years.
He added that the final asphalt works would provide a smooth and durable motorable surface, enhancing access for students, staff and the host community, while boosting local economic activities.
Baba-Ahmed also said thr reconstruction of internal roads at Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, was progressing steadily, with stone-base laying ongoing in key sections of the campus.
He explained that the project was aimed at improving infrastructure within the institution and enhancing the learning environment.
According to him, the ongoing works would transform the university into a more accessible, safer and better-connected academic environment for students, staff and visitors
