A nationwide training for people living with disability on skills aquisation in vacational and digital economy and creative arts for the pursuits of inclusivity and to make them more self reliant in the society is being facilitated by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the president on special Needs and Equal Opportunities.
The senior special Assistant to the president on special Needs and Equal Opportunities Hon Mohammed Abbas Isah made this statement at the unveiling of the Discovering Abilities in Disabilities Initiative (DADI) held at Arewa House Kaduna.
The Senior Special Assistant said the project launch was part of the Beyond Disability projects launched by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in July aimed to break barriers and address challenges being encountered by person’s with disability to pave way for them in gainful ventures, jobs Opportunities and enhance their well-being in the country. 

He said the bold presidential Initiative birthed from a vision to break barriers, challenge stereotypes and build sustainable pathways for person’s with Disabilities across the country.
He further expressed his appreciation for the signing of Disability act into law in 2018 by the late former president, Muhammadu Buhari , describing it as a major milestone for quest to safeguard and improve welfare of the over 35 million population of people with Disabilities across the nation.
Mohammed Abbas Isah said the Beyond Disability projects would be implemented in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Arts and Creative Economy, state and local government and the Discovering Ability in Disabilities (DADI), a non governmental organization.
He expressed his deepest gratitude to the Governor of Kaduna state, Senator Uba Sani in appointing a Special Assistant on Disability Affairs.Kaduna state has taken a commendable lead in institutionalizing disability inclusion at the state level, and this synergy between federal and state structures is exactly what the government needs to drive sustainable impact.

In his remarks National Coordinator of the Beyond Disability projects Mr Steve Rodstick Ezeh said the project would be engaging thirty person’s in each state of the country and Abuja for a training in content creation, ICT, and the creative industry comprising of Educated and non Educated amongst person’s with Disabilities for skills to make them self reliant in their respective communities.
