A Committee to begin the process of recruitment of Primary Healthcare staff into the local government healthcare facilities across the state has been inaugurated.

The Committee chaired by Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana on Tuesday conducted its inaugural meeting at the Conference Hall of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Katsina.

Briefing Newsmen on the activities of the Committee, Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana explained that the Committee was mandated to establish criteria by which the health workers would smoothly be employed to the system.

Hon. Safana said the Committee has undertaken a pledge to abide by the criteria that was set up for the employment process.

He further stated that the Committee will make sure that the staff to be recruited are qualified, committed and who will satisfactorily be dedicated in providing the required services  to such facilities.

The Chairman of the Committee who is also the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate said they   intend to give priority to Casual Staff that have been working with the health facilities.

He also stressed that the  Committee will ensure objectivity and sincerity in the employment process adding that

only the qualified ones will be considered for the employment.

Other members of the Committee include the Executive Secretary State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Local Government Auditor General, Chairman ALGON, Permanent Secretary MLGCA,  Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission and Director Administration and Supply State Primary Healthcare Development Agency to serve as the Secretary.
