Kano RUWASSA provided handpumps borehole for ‘Yarr Kanya community in Gabasawa LG

The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, RUWASSA, has officially commissioned a new hand pump berehole in ‘Yar kanya town, Gabasawa local government area, marking a significant milestone in the effort to provide clean and reliable water to the community

The project, which has been successfully completed,is set to benefit the community by ending the long -standing challenge of water shortage, providing a sustainable and portable drinking water source powered by renewable energy.

During the commissioning ceremony, the Managing Director of RUWASSA Engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir Isah (Tsamiyya Babba), emphasized the importance of community ownership for the sustainability of the facility. He called on the residents of Yar kanya to take responsibility for the mainland and protection of the new berehole to ensure its long – term operation.

The success of this project does not end with its completion, .it begins with its use and care by the community,stated Engineer Isah.we entrust this facility to you.its sustainability is key to continuing the provision of safe drinking water and improving public health through better sanitation.

The chairman of Gabasawa Local Government, Pharmacist Kabir Usman Tarauni, commended RUWASA for the initiative and assured continued collaborations to enhance development and improve the water sector across the area,He highlighted the project as a critical step forward in the local government development agenda.

In his remarks,a community leader, Malam Abdullahi, expressed profound gratitude to the state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif, for fulfilling the administration promise to provide essential infrastructure,He praised the governor commitment to improving the lives of rural communities.
