Despite the campaign of calumny by some opposition elements in Kebbi State, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) has expressed its readiness to partner with the administration of Governor Nasir Idris in advancing the development of the i state,
The coaliation gave the assurance when its Chairman, Ibrahim Ngaski, led members of the group on a courtesy visit to the governor at Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Monday.
Ngaski condemned the negative reports circulating about the state, stressing that Kebbi’s image must not be tarnished. “Kebbi is our state, and we do not want to see it castigated outside. Our coalition is prepared to sit down and discuss our problems and the way forward,” he stated.

In his response,Governor Nasir Idris welcomed the collaboration of the Civil Society groups and highlighted the monumental achievements recorded by his administration since assuming office in 2023.
“The opposition is not being fair to the people of Kebbi. Their unwarranted and sponsored negative reports can discourage investors.
“I have traveled across the world to attract investors to Kebbi with resounding success,” he said.
The Governor explained that a Chinese company is investing $350 million in the establishment of a Lithium Plant at Libata, which will provide about 45,000 direct and indirect jobs.
In addition, the Kebbi State Government has signed an agreement with another company to invest $600 million in a cement factory at Maiyama, expected to create 55,000 jobs.
Governor Idris also enumerated achievements in other sectors within two years in office, noting that his administration inherited widespread infrastructural decay which it is working diligently to address.
He condemned petitions with frivolous allegations that his government was importing mercenaries. “We have just held a security meeting, and the security agencies are already investigating such petitions.
‘”This is the height of irresponsibility by the opposition because it is pure falsehood. I have been at the forefront of the fight against criminals across the North, and my administration has invested heavily in security to restore normalcy in affected areas,” he declared.
The Governor further accused desperate opposition elements of sponsoring individuals to use social media to disparage him and paint Kebbi in a negative light. “It will not deter me. As the Divinely Ordained Governor of Kebbi State, I remain unperturbed.
” I will stay focused and continue to execute projects that are beneficial to all our communities,” Idris affirmed.
