Flood: Kaduna alerts residents

The Kaduna State Government has alerted residents of of a high probability of thunderstorms and significant rainfall across the state  between September 10 and 15, 2025.

The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) has therefore advised residents to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and minimize potential damage.
KADSEMA’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Usman Hayatu Mazadu, emphasized the importance of preparedness, urging residents to clear drainage channels, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and stay away from flood-prone areas.
“We are working closely with relevant agencies to mitigate the impact of the flood,” he said, advising residents to monitor official updates from KADSEMA and other government channels for the latest information.
Recall that KADSEMA has been working with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Environment, to desilt drainages and water channels and sensitize communities on flood preparedness. The agency has also trained Local Emergency Management Committees in all 23 local government areas on disaster management.
