Stadium Vandalisation: Committee Visits Mashi.

A Six-Member Committee set up by Katsina State Government to investigate the vandalization of Mashi Township Stadium has visited the Stadium, Thursday.

Chairman of the Committee Hon Lawal Rufa’i Safana said they were in the Stadium to assess the level of damage on the structures in the Stadium.

The Mashi Township Stadium was constructed during Shema administration with all structures put in place, but recently the structures were vandalised.

Doors, window, roofing, and all electrical fittings of the Administrative Block, Mosque of the Stadium were vandalised

Hon Lawal Safana in an interview with Newsmen explained that the state government inaugurated the Committee to  investigate the absence of all materials and structures put in place in the Stadium which are now non existent as a result of vandalisation.

.”So we are here to find out what happened and why it happened and whose fault. We decided to come and inspect the facility to have first hand information on what happened to guide us.” He added.

After the committee left the Stadium, it also visited Mashi Police Station where the DPO conducted the committee round some remnant materials removed from the stadium and brought for custody.

The committee wss given three weeks to complete its assignment and submit report to the government.

Other members of the Committee include representatives from Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Assets Management Board.
