Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the immediate past Alll Progressives Congress, APC has been announced as co-national chairman of the party.
The APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, made the announcement during his condolence visit to Ganduje over his mother’s death saying President Bola Tinubu has directed him to collaborate with Ganduje in moving the party forward
The APC national chairman explained that his administration would heavily rely on Ganduje’s guidance, experience and political networks to strengthen and consolidate the party.
: “My doors are open, the office is open, the partnership remains open, and the friendship remains open. So never lock your door against me, and I know you will not, because we have worked together long before this time.”

This came days after Yilwatda commented on the rumour of the 2023 New Nigeria Peoples Party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso’s defection, adding that the door of the party is open for the Kano-born politician, who gathered millions of votes to come fourth in the 2023 presidential election.
“Our doors are open. When everybody’s time is due, it will manifest itself, and that is also for everybody who has come back to the APC.”
Kwankwaso and Ganduje have been two political opponents in the politics of Kano. They both worked together as governor and deputy governor in the northwest state until the former handed over power to the latter. There were speculations that Ganduje resigned as the APC’s national chairman because of the planned Kwankwaso’s defection to the party
